On January 13, 2014 the information about individuals who have inflicted bodily harm to the advocate Serhiy Kulbach in Dnipropetrovsk was disseminated by the mass media.

According to the report of the law enforcement source, mentioned facts were entered in the Unified register of prejudicial inquiries and such an inquiry has been launched upon the fact of the criminal offence envisaged by the Article 397 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Moreover, according to the item 6 of the part 1 of the Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Bar and Advocacy” life, health, honor and dignity of an advocate and members of his family, as well as their property are under the state’s protection. Thereafter, the Head of the Commission Valentyn Zagariya sent the official appeal to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka as well as to the Prosecutor of Dnipropetrovsk region Nataliya Marchuk with the request to assure full and impartial investigation of the fact of attack on the advocate Serhiy Kulbach and take prejudicial investigation under control in the appropriate criminal proceeding.
